Jiko’s fibre rollout is designed to demonstrate that world class IT/Telecom services can be delivered cost effectively to rural and urban areas of the nation including Port Harcourt. The rollout involves the build out of super-fast fibre optics and electricity developments using Fibre to the Home (FTTH) in towns and local areas. This means that the high-speed fibre cables go directly in to the homes and businesses we have been instructed. This provides internet and telecom services of speeds of up to 1000Mb/s.
Responsible for planning, designing and implementing projects, Jiko, in joint partnership with its oversea and local partners, is ensuring efficient networks as well asmiles enable increased internet bandwidth and faster connectivity. Such networks will ensure customers are able to access a wider range of services such as triple broadband and will ensure that multiple stakeholders across the entire ICT value chain benefit, including local construction companies and mobile network operators.
